Don Sam to perform here

Samuels

DONALD 'DON SAM' Samuels who created strong musical waves in Jamaican circles in the 1960s, is back from the USA. As lead singer of the Don Sam group, he mesmerised Jamaican audiences back then with his agility on the piano in his introduction of soul music to Christians. He is also founder/leader of JAMI award-winners, Birthwright.

A member of the New Testament Church of God at 65 Waltham Park Road, Don ministered around the Caribbean until the mid-70s when he went to pursue studies in Commercial Art at the Pratt Institute, USA.

A toy designer for the past 24 years, he presently works as a design consultant and toy inventor on contract with former employers including Playschool Toys, Fisher Price, Galoob and Little Tykes.

Don Sam is expected to perform tomorrow, at 7 p.m. at the New Testament Church of God, 65 Waltham Park Road.

He will be accompanied by the Waltham Park Road mass choir and Oneil Lewis.
