LINSTEAD, St. Catherine:

REMEDIAL WORK is currently being carried out on a number of schools in St. Catherine that were in need of improvements to there sanitation facilities as well as repairs to school buildings, replacement of louvre windows and repairing of broken doors.

Workmen spent much this past week putting the final touches to two of the schools, the Ginger Ridge All Age in West Central St. Catherine and the Pollyground Primary in North West St. Catherine, ahead of the new school year.

According to Junior Minister in the Ministry of Education, Mrs Phyllis Mitchell workmen are being sent by the Ministry of Education to speed up whatever problems were at that schools to allow for a smooth start to the new term.

Some three weeks ago Acting Chief Public Health Inspector for St. Catherine, Everton Francis took an audit of the schools which were having sanitation problems and the general physical condition of schools.
