Bennett, Rowe win top titles

TOP seeds Kevron Bennett and Tinesta Rowe were crowned Boys and Girls 18 champions respectively at the Milo All Jamaica Junior Hardcourt Tennis Championships at the Manchester Club on Thursday.

Bennett romped to a 6-0, 6-1 win over No. 2 seed Omar Bailey, while Rowe cruised to a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Nikesha Brown. Brown had earlier won the Girls 16 title 6-1, 6-1 over Vanassa Chung.

Bennett joined forces with Bailey in the 18 doubles to defeat the pair of Christopher McNeil and Gary Harrison 6-2, 6-2.

In other singles finals, Jared Levy defeated Trevor Chung 6-2, 6-3 in the Boys 12 and Peter Miller dismissed Akeem Byron 6-2, 6-1 in the Boys 14.

In doubles action, Danielle Monteith and Chung defeated Simerone Chung and Taniesha Samuels 6-3, 6-1 in the Girls 14 final; Peter Miller and Ronald Fox beat Byron Morris and Osbourne Foster 6-1, 6-2 in the Boys 14 final while Dillon Watkis and Wayne Lawrence defeated Akeem Byron and Garfield Blagrove 6-3, 6-4 in the Boys 16 finals.
