A SQUAD of 22 local-based players were due in camp last night to continue preparing for Jamaica's World Cup qualifier against El Salvador on August 16.
The eight overseas-based players invited to the squad are due in the island on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Heading the list of invitees are captain Linval Dixon, goalkeepers Donovan Ricketts and Leon Gordon. Also included are defenders Shavar Thomas, Claude Davis, Stephen Malcolm and Fabian Davis with the midfielders being Christopher Dawes, Jermaine Johnson and Jermaine Hue.
The forwards include Fabian Taylor, Kevin Deerr and Dwayne Richards. Players who were invited for the first time under new technical director Clovis de Oliveira are Eshaya Bryan, Shane Crawford, Shane Stephens, Ray Graham, Christopher Nicholas, Kirk Hendricks and Raymond Smith.
Of interest is the fact that two players named in the squad as local-based and being expected to join the camp last night are currently in England on trials with a First and a Third Division club respectively. The two, Aaron Lawrence and Winston Griffiths, are with Scunthorpe United and Bolton Wanderers. No special mention was made of the two or when they are due in the island.
Deon Burton and Daryll Powell who were previously listed as injured and unlikely to turn up for the game are scheduled to arrive on Saturday while Walter Boyd, Theodore Whitmore, Ian Goodison and the America-based trio of Onandi Lowe, Tyrone Marshall and Andy Willimas arrive on Sunday.
