Kingston Wharves cricket on

DEFENDING champions Middlesex battle Surrey A at the Nelson Oval today in one of two opening games of the Kingston Wharves under-18 cricket competition.

Cornwall face Surrey B at Kensington Park in the other game scheduled to be played over two days.

The competition brings together the cream of young players who are all available for selection on the 2001 national under-19 team and gives the selectors their first chance to view the talents available.

Before the start of play at Kensington Park, all four teams will assemble at the ground for the official opening of the competition and will be met by Alistair Cooke, general manager of Kingston Wharves, Frederick Leighton and Angela Jackson.
