The 'Messenjah' to move MoBay

Janet Silvera, Freelance Writer

WESTERN BUREAU:

IN 1997 when Luciano the 'Messenjah' made his first appearance on Reggae Sumfest, Vinette Pryce, a journalist from New York who was seeing him for the first time remarked "He is electrifying...awesome".

He jumped and railed, read his Bible on stage and moved his audience to a peak no other artiste but Luciano knows how to do. They were mesmerised, some converted by the time he exited the stage.

"Patrons of Sumfest 2000 should come to the show this year looking for the glory of the Most High, Yahweh Jah, coming through Luciano the messenger", said Akhenaton Linton, marketing manager of Jahmessenjah Production.

Luciano is now on tour promoting his new album, A New Day's Dawning.

His first concert took place at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on July 1, followed by a great show at the Downing Stadium, New York City on July 2.

He is now in Europe for performances at Brighton, United Kingdom and Rotterdam, The Netherlands, before moving to Genoa, Italy.

He is on the line-up of artistes for August 4 at Reggae Sumfest.
