THE EDITOR, Madam:
THE OUTLOOK dated Sunday June 18, contained an article on page 8. The heading asked the question 'Are there any men in Jamaica?'
I would like to answer this question for a wide cross section of women in Jamaica with whom I can identify.
Jamaica is sunshine all year round, however, most of our men are very cold for a lifetime.
Whatever has caused them to be so cold and calculated, only heaven knows.
So egotistic, yet the majority are so irresponsible to the point where they don't even care about the deposit from their loins. I am positive that the Family Court can attest to this.
I am wondering if men with this character trait came from underneath a rock or were they washed up against the shores.
I am one of those who don't think that being Mrs. makes any woman into a complete person but, it's the wish of every woman to be in a stable, secure and happy union.
Talk about inflicting emotional, financial, physical and verbal abuse, some of them must have gotten a Ph.D in this discipline.
No wonder a lot of women are celibate. At least there is peace of mind and less stress in celibacy.
I am not trying to do a piece of male-bashing, but, I have been there, and done that, and I try hard not to remember.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask all those males out there who are using their tails to balance themselves, to do some soul-searching and get back to the real world.
I am, etc.,
