Cop killed in 'friendly fire'

A TRAGIC case of "friendly fire" claimed the life of a young police Constable, Errol Thompson, of the Hunts Bay Police Station. He was fatally shot by colleagues during an operation in Browns Lane, Kingston 13, yesterday morning.

Alfred Duncan: A committed educator

ALFRED AUGUSTUS Duncan, Principal of Windward Road All-Age School, has won the 2000 Governor-General's Achievement Award for Kingston. A Justice of the Peace, Mr. Duncan was born in Portland in 1929.
