Lois Samuels 'Glows' in Barbados

SUPERMODEL, Lois Samuels launched her book A 'Glow In The Dark' in Bridgetown, Barbados recently. The event, held at the Island Inn, attracted a cross-section of Barbados media and personalities including Beverley Authur wife of Barbados' Prime Minister Owen Authur. Launched by Pulse Books and LMH Publishing (co-publishers) the book was very well received by an audience that included designers, models and celebrities.

Dawn Chambers of LMH Publishing chaired the function which was addressed by Pulse's Executive Chairman Kingsley Cooper, who described Lois' book as a landmark publication for the Caribbean modelling industry and indicated the desire of both the author and Pulse to share it with the wider Caribbean family. Samuels in her reply expressed delight at the book's publication in Barbados where she shot her Essence cover and editorial feature "Fire On Ice", five years ago.

The following day Samuels participated in a book-signing at Cave Shepherd, Barbados' largest book outlet. She autographed copies of the book for fans, including several Jamaicans living in Barbados. Samuels was widely interviewed on radio and in the press, which carried stories of the launch in their Sunday publication of The Advocate and The Nation newspapers.

Immediately after the book signing Lois flew to Norway to shoot a new campaign for European clients. She returns to Barbados before coming to Jamaica to commence work on a Jamaican television project.
