Million Dollar Round Table meeting

Cedric McDonald (standing) with well known author, Dr. Deepak Chopra.

SENIOR Life Underwriter, Cedric McDonald is Jamaica's representative for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), meeting in San Francisco, starting June 9. Topics to be covered at the meeting which is themed, "Connections" include: Business Insurance, Wealth Transfer Strategies, Retirement Planning, Productivity/Marketing and Technology.

Some of the top rated speakers who have appeared on the MDRT annual meeting platform include, Dr. Deepak Chopra, General Colin Powell, (retired), Leo Buscaglia and Lee Iacocca.

The MDRT annual meeting began as an informal gathering of 32 extraordinary life insurance sales professionals in 1927. Today nearly 19,000 members from more than 50 nations are invited.

Mr. McDonald is a 16-year veteran of the insurance business and has been a member of the MRDT since his first year in the business. The group comprises the top five per cent of agents worldwide.

He told Flair that one of his functions is to promote the MRDT in Jamaica and increase membership and participation. "My role at the conference is to attend special sessions for country representatives and plan how to improve ideals and membership globally."

He cites the secret to being a successful agent as an, "unshakable conviction to the ideals of life insurance and its related products."

Mr. McDonald remains hopeful about the revitalisation of the island's insurance industry. "Like any other business there are ups and downs; people should not be amazed at the bad times, that's a part of the cycle of life. There are signs of a resurgence and stabilisation. There is stronger growth ahead," he said.

He is married with two children.
