Accident claims youngster

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl died and 31 others were injured in a three-vehicle collision in Port Maria, St Mary, on Saturday night.

A report from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said a Nissan pick-up and a Toyota Hiace passenger bus, travelling toward Port Maria, collided and overturned at the intersection of Trinity and Sandside main roads after a motorcycle ran into the path of the pick-up. The driver lost control and crashed into the rear of the minibus, CCN liaison officer for St. Mary Alford Stoddart said yesterday.

Stacy Ann Blake of Highgate, St. Mary was killed and 31 others were admitted to the Port Maria hospital with fractures, head and chest injuries, said Constable Stoddart. Stacy Ann was transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at about 10:00 am yesterday.
