Thanks to kind bus driver
THE EDITOR, Madam:
I WISH to thank and commend a stranger in the person of Mr. Orelon Jones (who was driving the bus licenced PP 8172 Saturday 13th May 2000) for an act of kindness rendered.
On that particular date, I attended a massive funeral service at 41 Old Harbour Road. Aftr the service I and some others who travelled by public transport were waiting by the wayside for transportation to Old Harbour.
As we waited, the sun in all its glory shining down on us, several Christians and other acquaintances who were at the funeral drove by us.
After waiting for approximately 45 minutes, a bus drove up and stopped.
The approximately twenty of us were welcomed on board and all were comfortably seated. Mr. Jones, the stranger acted as 'the Good Samaritan.' He along with his five companions were quite hospitable and sociable and we certainly enjoyed the sermon on audio cassette that was being played. We were taken safely to Old Harbour and not a cent was collected from anyone.
Good deed, Mr. Jones! Don't forget that good follows good. Your act of generosity is commendable, well appreciated and is not being overlooked or taken for granted.
I am, etc.,, OBSERVANT & GRATEFUL,, St. Catherine
