McALLEN, Texas (AP):

A Texas border mayor says he doesn't think he nor the Mexican officials he was with were targets of a drive-by shooting in front of a popular restaurant in Piedras Negras, Mexico.

A woman died in the Tuesday attack.

Eagle Pass Mayor, Chad Foster, said he was in the back of the Charcoal Grill with the Piedras Negras mayor, Coahuila state attorney general and other Mexican officials Tuesday afternoon. Suddenly, the prosecutor's security officers rushed in and told them all to get on the floor.

Foster said they never heard the shots and no one in the restaurant was harmed.

The Coahuila state attorney general's office released a statement Wednesday identifying the victim as 40-year-old Sonia Elizabeth Sanchez Muzquiz of Piedras Negras.
